Google Plus Notifier for Mac

Screenshot of G+ Notifier

Today I found out that no Google Plus notifier yet existed for Mac, so I decided to make one. Sadly, I had no knowledge of Cocoa what-so-ever, so first I had to spend some time learning it.

Program is very likely to be buggy (as I’m a total Cocoa-noob) and I take absolutely no responsibility for any damages caused by this software. Use it at your own risk. The source is avalible on request.

You do not need to type in password or anything, but it requires you to be logged in to Google Plus. To close the program, go to the Terminal and type killall “G+ Notifier”. That is the hardcore and only way.

Download it here!

REMARK: After posting this on a forum, a user pointed out that there already exists an app: Tab for Google+

UPDATE: Also check out the new updated version.

    1. Thanks, that’s great to hear!

I have added support to use notification center in the newest version. Did you try it out? If not, there is a pointer in the end of the post.

  1. This app is exactly what I’ve been looking for, but I think it needs a bit work.

Under activity monitor it’s nameless, and you should probably add in a feature to right click and close the app. I just downloaded it and waiting to see if it actually shows how many notifications I have. I’ll keep you posted.

    1. Hi Kris and thank you for comment! This project is discontinued and unfortunately I cannot provide you with the source code anymore (lost it when a disk crashed). The notifications should be working though, if not, you might want to check out the newer version.
